Those of you who are registered users should now have or will soon have your copy of Pro Predictor, Version 2.0b. I mailed it Wednesday, November 13. If you don't get it within the next few days, let me know by dropping a note via Genie Mail. The PRO 1991 file has the odds entered for weeks 1-12, but the odds for week 12 were the early line. The PRO 1991 in this package has the odds as of Thursday.
• Version 2.0b has an additional module that allows you to enter the betting odds for each week's games and then have Pro Predictor pick the best bets. So far it is doing very well. Set at a minimum of 3 best bets it has beaten the odds 32 out of 40, for an amazing 80%. And with a hypothetical bet of $50 per game that's $1200 in winnings!
• There are several options with the odds module. You can set it to pick a specific number of best bets or just let it pick those it considers the best only. You can enter a betting amount per game and see how much you're winning. And, you can even try your hand at optimizing its betting system for your particular needs.
• Also, the Alter Team Power option has been adjusted so you can change a team's power rating during the season with more lasting results. In Version 1.0, changing a team's power rating was effective only at the beginning of the season. Other changes would be effective only the week of the change. In this PRO 1991, I altered the Eagles power rating by 4 point week #5 when McMahon was hurt and they had no one to replace him. I also lowered the 49er's power by 4 points week 10 when Young was hurt.
